Hi Maas,
Sorry to hear about the bombs. They mentioned them very briefly on the news media, but I don't think they have many international reporters in Mosul, so you don't hear much. You hear more from reading blogs than you do in the news.
Is your sister okay?
Shawn.

Maas,
I'm sorry that this past week was hard. I hope the coming week will be much better for you. Stay strong. Best wishes, Lim.
Maas it is so sad ,you are fifteen years old and you have to live in a warzone.you have to study with bombs dropping next to you.we in Europe never wanted this war,we held great protest-demonstrations,butBush did what he wanted to do,he is a silly old man who lives without God.
i hope you have good teachers ,and that you do the best you can in school.this situation will change for the better and your country will need well-educated people to rebuild Iraq.i wish you lots of courage and faith!!! from ritaline
Shawn thanks God my sister is ok
thank you lim for your comment
anonymous your comment is great
thank you all
"Bush did what he wanted to do,he is a silly old man who lives without God."
Bush is not a silly old man and he does live with God. It was Saddam who had no God but himself and his greed. Bush is not responsible for the bombs anymore, but those who lost the war and are not man enough to admit defeat; they are deceived into believing God is on their side when he clearly is not. God could have defeated the US Military, but God did no such thing. God used the US Military and gave them the decisive victrory in battle. Those who hold out against the reforms the US seeks to bring are holding out against the will of God. They bring nothing but mayhem and shame upon the people of Iraq and religion of Islam.
Hi Maas,
You saw the note I wrote on hnk's blog I see... I am still laughing at myself when I think about this - yes, all this time, I had thought you were male. I feel so embarrassed - and I hope you weren't offended!
See, Najma's profile says she's a girl, so does hnk. Yours didn't say either way, and I guess I thought "maas" sounded more like a guy's nickname - most girls' names in English end with a vowel (Michelle, Vanessa, Patricia, Diane, etc.) and most guys' names end with a consonant (John, Fred, Patrick, Scott, etc.).
Shawn.
PS: It was a relief to see your comment in my blog. There was news about car bombs in Mosul this week, and I hadn't seen any posts from you, hnk, or Najma all week. Is everyone okay?
thank you for the post Shawn i'll write in my profile
that like hnk and najma and najma and hnd good but they have also exams like me
Maas
Hi Maas,
I see your profile says "gender: female" now. Hopefully nobody else will make a stupid mistake like the one I made...:)
I also see I wasn't the only one who was worried - Najma's blog has a few worried comments from people wondering where she went. Thanks for letting me know that she, hnk, and you are okay.
Good luck on your exams.
Shawn.
hello maas i hope everything is allright with you,i am a bit worried because you did not write your diary this week;maybe the exams are still going on...
i saw you are a girl,i should have guessed it ;being a girl is still a bit better than being a boy,or do you have another opinion about that? (this is not a serious question,of course...).By the way ,my name is Rita, but i don't know enough about blog and blogging to sign in.i sincerely hope to see something new from you in your blog !!!
welcome rita on my blog and dont be worried because i hadnt time to post
rita if you have any help i am ready..
Maas
hello Maas,i am very glad that you are o.k.Having no time for something is very normal, but you understand,we see your country on our television,so i got worried.Still a lot to do for school,of course.i hope you have the time to play and to do the things you really like.thanks that you want to help me!!
Hi Maas,
I hope your exams are going well. It was nice to see your comment on my blog earlier today - I wrote you a reply. I also made a couple of minor edits on my post from last night (it was late when I wrote it, and after I saw your comment, I re-read it and realized it was a bit long-winded and melodramatic in spots).
Do you have any relatives in Fallujah or know anyone from there? That would be a scary place to live right now.
Shawn.
Hi Maas,
Are you okay? There are some news reports today about armed men in Mosul setting up roadblocks, and about the governor ordering a curfew.
I will say a prayer today for the safety of you and your family. Hopefully you all will be okay.
Shawn.
Eid Mubarak Maas. I hope you are doing okay with all the violence that is going on in Mosul. I know it's not a very nice day for a holiday over there, but I'm hoping you and your family can have some enjoyment together.
Shawn.
Hello there
I hope you can help me.
I found your blog on the web.
I am writing from Channel Fours News.
We are based in London and are a one hour long in depth daily news programme.
We have been unable to get any interviews from Mosul and are only getting second hand reports that the situation there has worsened over the last week.
As you will appreciate it is important for us to be able to report accurately events in Iraq. All too often reports are restricted or unclear so if you are able to speak to me please get in touch by email or by calling one of the numbers below.
Many thanks

I know you're going throw hard times in Mosul. Please, take extra care. I hope you and your family stay safe.
Happy Eid my dear.
Hi Maas,
I was also relieved to see your post on hnk's blog. I've been hearing in the news about all the violence in Mosul, and have been checking your blog every day since. I hadn't heard from you since Tuesday and was getting worried about you myself. I'm glad to see you're okay.
I hope you are having at least a bit of enjoyment for Eid. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Kind regards,
Shawn.
